Hi, I'm Makkedah and I started Rooted & Redeemed in a season of growth and preparation - learning to build a Christ-centered life, home, and heart. Here, I share what I'm learning about faith, homemaking, and wellness as I prepare for the future that God is calling me to. My hope is that everything you read and see on this blog will encourage you to slow down, stay rooted in Christ, and cultivate a life filled with purpose and peace.
Vision: To inspire women to live rooted in Christ and to build a community for women to share and encourage each other to build lives and homes of purpose, peace, and grace as they grow in faith and biblical womanhood.
Mission: Rooted & Redeemed exists to share the journey of faith, homemaking, and wholesome living - encouraging women to cultivate hearts that serve, homes that nurture, and lives that reflect Christ in every season.
I’d love to hear from you — your story, your prayers, or your favorite homemaking tips!
Hi!
My name is Makkedah, but most people just call me Kedah. And if you're wondering how to pronounce that, don't worry it really is a different name. It's actually pronounced "Muh-kay-duh" or for my nickname it's like Kayla with a "d" instead of an "l"!
I was born on March 28, 2007, so currently I am 19 years old. I grew up on a grain farm in the country, with my four younger siblings. Currently, I am the Marketing Manager at a financial advising business in my hometown, and I am going to college for a Business Administration Diploma with a major in Marketing.
I love being outside! I truly believe that nature is God's artwork and it's beautiful! Being outside and in nature is also the one of the world's best forms of medicine, whether it's fresh air, the sun, or grounding!
I started making sourdough in August of 2025 and have been making multiple loaves every week for my family since then. I absolutely love sourdough and it is now a big part of my personality lol! I am trying to learn as many skills as I can, wether it's sewing, cooking, gardening, crocheting, canning, knitting, preserving food, writing, baking, and more! I believe that we should never stop learning.
My faith is everything to me, and ever since I gave my life to the Lord he has been convicting, teaching, and growing into the woman he created me to be more and more everyday. About 2 years ago I decided to start seriously pursuing biblical womanhood, and learning about what that looked like in our world today. For me this meant changing many things in my life - more details about this to come in the blog!
