Crocheting is something that I have slowly learned over the past year and a bit. I have struggled to keep it up and try my best to not forget everything I have learned.
But... this blanket that I made is a chunky knit blanket! Basically it is just crocheting on a larger scale with big yarn and using your fingers instead of a hook. So in my opinion this was much easier than normal crocheting!
For this grey blanket that I made I used seven skeins of the big chunky yarn. The dimensions are roughly 5 feet by 4 feet. The pattern I used is the most normal pattern that you can find online.
I am so glad I did this, because now I am able to use a blanket that I made which just feels different, if you know what I mean! Also, now that I know how to make this kind of blanket, when I have kids one day I want to make each of them a blanket! These blankets are also perfect for gifts if you have the time and motivation!
If you do have the time and motivation I would recommend trying one of these as it is super fun and not hard. You can either do it in one day if you have that much time and have a very long attention span, or you can do what I did and work on it a little bit day by day!
To make one of these on your own just look up on Pinterest or Youtube “Chunky Knit Blanket Finger Crochet Tutorial” or reach out to me and I would be happy to send you some videos or walk you through it!
All in all, I definitely would do this again!
